The Pakistan government plans to provide a 20-year tax holiday to companies that want to establish their business in Gwadar Port’s Free Zone. The government has also decided to exempt from customs duties, machinery, equipment and other project-related items imported for the establishment of power generation plants, water treatment plants and other infrastructure projects located within a 30-kilometre radius of Gwadar.
They also plan to exempt construction material for the development of infrastructure at Gwadar from sales tax, and plant, machinery and equipment imported for setting up fruit processing and preservation in Balochistan are exempted from sales tax up to 30 June 2019.
