On 22 April 2021, the Ministry of Finance issued a guide in Financial Bulletin 19/2021, which provides amendments to Tax Code. According to the Guide, the late payment interest rate is decreased from 14% to 8%. The amount of default interest is equal to 14% plus the repo rate set by the Czech National Bank applies up to 31 December 2020 as on the first day of the relevant calendar half-year. From 1 January 2021, the new interest rate 8% plus the repo rate will be used as on the first day of the relevant calendar half-year, while the method of calculation is unchanged.
