On 27 July 2020, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced that payment deadline for the year 2020 of the income tax returns, including installments for legal entities, trust, and individual is to be extended from 1 September 2020 to 30 September 2020. No penalties and interest will be charged if payments are made by 30 September 2020. Note that, CRA is also waiving penalties and interest for goods and services tax, or harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) returns are submitted during the time period 1 April 2020 to 30 June 2020.
