Forecasts released after the US Federal Reserve’s two-day meeting in Washington show that the US economy will grow by 2.8% this year, while the unemployment rate drops to 3.6%. They expect the core inflation rate to rise to around 2% this year.
Officials are also expecting slightly higher interest rates for 2019 and 2020 than in December, according to the projections published after the meeting, which reflect the median estimates by committee members.
