Federal Register Export-Import rules revisions for hazardous waste:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has amended existing regulations regarding the export and import of hazardous wastes from and into the U.S. to provide greater protection to human health and the environment and enable electronic submittal to EPA of all export and import-related documents (e.g., export notices, export annual reports). It also enables electronic validation of consent in the Automated Export System (AES) for export shipments subject to RCRA export consent requirements prior to exit. The AES resides in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). See Details
Information collection activities through Lien notice:
In accordance with section 564, Tariff Act of 19, as amended provides that the claimant of a lien for freight can notify CBP in writing of the existence of a lien, and CBP shall not permit delivery of the merchandise from a public store or a bonded warehouse until the lien is satisfied or discharged. The claimant shall file the notification of a lien on CBP Form 3485, Lien Notice. Currently, the submission is being made to extend the expiration date with no change to the burden hours and no changes to the information collected or to Form 3485. Written comments should be received on or before December 28, 2016 to be assured of consideration. See Details
Extension of import restrictions on archaeological and ethnological materials:
The document amends the CBP regulations to reflect the extension of import restrictions on certain archaeological and ethnological material from the Greece. The restrictions are due to expire on November 21, 2016 and were originally imposed by CBP Decision 11-25. This Decision contains the designated and restricted list of archaeological and ecclesiastical ethnological material from Greece.  These import restrictions will remain in effect for an additional five years, and the CBP regulations are being amended to reflect this extension until November 21, 2021. Argentina will be treated as a beneficiary developing country:
This notice announces the initiation of a review to consider designation of Argentina as a beneficiary developing country under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP program) and the schedule for public comments and a public hearing relating to whether Argentina meets the criteria for designation. Deadline for submission of comments, pre-hearing briefs is on December 23, 2016. See Details
