The National Identification Authority (NIDA) of Tanzania has announced a rule for all foreign residents residing to obtain a residence ID card. It is assumed that this requirement will be needed to register with NIDA in order to get a residence card and note that it will be applicable for all individuals aged 18 or more than 18 and residing in Tanzania for a period of above six months. This requirement will part of the immigration procedure for all appropriate foreign nationals. After processing the application and required documentation submission at a NIDA office, the ID card will be issued. Applicants are needed to submit main copies of a passport of their country of origin, a work permit that is valid for more than six months, a residence permit (valid more than 6 months) and a bank pay slip (Payable at Cooperative Rural Development Bank PLC (Tanzania)). The registration process for these individuals were required to complete the registration and identification process before November 2, 2016. The individuals needs to consider some application fees as well. Application fee will depend on the characteristic of the residence and it will vary from $20 to $100. Note that, this fee is non-refundable and should be paid straight into NIDA’s bank account.
