The government of Georgia submitted a draft law to the parliament introducing certain amendments to the current Tax Code on 5 December 2016. The draft law recommends a significant increase of excise duty rates on tobacco products, passenger cars, and natural gas and oil products.
The draft law proposes to introduce property tax on passenger cars and according to this any individual who is owner of passenger cars will be subject to property tax if the annual household income exceeds GEL 40,000.
