Federal Register General notice of ACE becoming the sole EDI system:
From December 9, 2017, Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) will be the sole CBP-authorized Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system for generating, transmitting, and updating daily and monthly statements, and Automated Commercial System (ACS) will no longer be a CBP-authorized EDI system for such purpose. Importing fresh mango fruit from Vietnam:
Through this final rule, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) are amending the regulations to allow the importation of fresh mango fruit from Vietnam into the continental United States (U.S.). This action will allow for the importation of fresh mango fruit while continuing to provide protection against the introduction of plant pests into the continental U.S.. See Details
Notice of proposed rule-making for regulating NVOCC rate and services:
The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) proposes to change its rules regulating Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) negotiated rate arrangements and NVOCC service arrangements. The proposed rule is intended to modernize, update, and reduce regulatory burdens. According to the proposal, comments regarding revised information collection requirements need to be submitted on January 29, 2018 and on the other hand, Commission’s finding of no significant impact under National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) must be submitted on or before December 11, 2017. Request for comments on import injury according to large residential washers:
The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that large residential washers are being imported into the United States (U.S.) with serious injury to the domestic industry producing an article that is directly competitive with the imported articles. Office of the USTR is announcing a process so that, once the ITC makes its recommendation, domestic producers, importers, exporters, and other interested parties may submit their views and evidence. Deadline for submission of written comments and for requests to testify at the hearing and submission of written responses to the initial round of comments are December 11, 2017 and December 18, 2017 respectively. CBP Atlanta CBP delivers counterfeit awareness to airport travelers:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations officers and import specialists presented a counterfeit product on November 14, 2017, outreach with travelers at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL). The U.S. CBP is responsible for enforcing approximately 500 U.S. trade laws and regulations on behalf of 47 federal agencies, facilitating legitimate trade, collecting revenue, and protecting the U.S. economy and its consumers from harmful imports and unfair trade practices. ITC USITC announces recommendations in its global safeguard investigation:
The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) announced the remedy recommendations that it will forward to the President in its global safeguard investigation regarding imports of large residential washers. The Commission will forward its report to the President by December 4, 2017. The President, will make the final decision whether to provide relief to the U.S. industry and the type and amount of relief. See Details
