On 23 December 2016, the Belgian Council of Ministers approved the double tax agreement (DTA) with Russia for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. Once in force and effective, the new treaty will replace the existing DTA of 1995.
