Federal Register Eligibility of Namibia to export meat products to the US:
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is amending the Federal meat inspection regulations to add Namibia to the list of countries eligible to export meat and meat products to the United States. FSIS has reviewed Namibia’s laws, regulations, and inspection system as implemented, and has determined that they are similar to the Federal Meat Inspection Act (FMIA), the regulations implementing this statute, and the U.S. food safety system for meat and meat products. Updated statements of legal authority for the EAR:
This rule updates the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) legal authority paragraphs in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to cite a Presidential notice extending an emergency declared according to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and also to remove one obsolete citation. This is a procedural rule that only updates authority paragraphs of the EAR to make them current and to avoid confusion. It does not alter any right, obligation or prohibition that applies to any person under the EAR. See Details
Cyber security trade mission to Turkey:
The United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, is amending the notice published at 80 FR 76670 (December 10, 2015), regarding the information and communication technology trade mission to Turkey, scheduled for November 28, 2016 to December 1, 2016, to amend the title, dates, and deadline for submitting applications for the event. CBP Notice of deadline for activation and mandate in ACE:
Beginning July 23, 2016 trade parties will be need to submit electronic entries and entry summaries for additional entry types to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). ACE filing will be mandatory for electronic quota submissions after July 23, 2016. This will impact agencies such as Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA).  These organization will receive information from entries filed in ACE, with accompanying agency form data that relate to quota merchandise (i.e., tuna, textiles, etc.).  This content may be accessed through the PGA Data Processing module of your ACE account. ITC Certain modifications in U.S. HTS nomenclature:
The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has recommended to the President that he make certain changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) of the United States to conform it with World Customs Organization (WCO) amendments to the global Harmonized System. The modifications concern the classification of edible fish offal, new subdivisions for coniferous and non-coniferous wood and new HTS subheadings for certain wood of pine, fir, spruce, beech, birch, poplar, aspen, and eucalyptus; and certain bed-nets of warp knit fabrics. Following expiration of a 60-day layover period before the Congress, the President is authorized to proclaim the modifications to the HTS.  The amendments will enter into force on January 1, 2018.
