Tax Treaty News: March 2015

Sweden 

United Kingdom

On March 26, 2015, the DTA between Sweden and United Kingdom was signed, in Stockholm. Once in force and effective, the new treaty will replace the existing DTA of 1983.
Bulgaria United Kingdom On March 26, 2015, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom signed an income and capital gains tax treaty for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. Once in force and effective, the new treaty will replace the existing DTA of 1987.
Iran Vietnam On March 25, 2015, the government of Vietnam approved the DTA with Iran for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
Korea Nigeria On March 21, 2015, the DTA between Korea (Rep.) and Nigeria entered into force for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. The treaty will be applicable from 1 January 2016.
Barbados Rwanda On March 20, 2015, the cabinet of Rwanda approved the income tax treaty with Barbados for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income. This treaty was signed on 22 December 2014.
Rwanda Singapore On March 20, 2015, the cabinet of Rwanda approved the DTA with Singapore for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
Macau United Kingdom On March 19, 2015, the United Kingdom ratified the Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) with Macau to automatically exchange tax data.
United Kingdom Monaco On March 19, 2015, the United Kingdom ratified the Tax Information Exchange Agreement signed with Monaco by way of the International Tax Enforcement (Monaco) Order 2015, as published in the Official Gazette.
Portugal Ivory Coast On March 17, 2015, Portugal and Ivory Coast signed a tax treaty, in Portugal for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
France Andorra On March 13, 2015, France ratified the DTA with Andorra for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income by way of Law No. 2015-279.
MexicoGuatemala On March 13, 2015, Mexico and Guatemala signed an income tax treaty, in Mexico City for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
Belgium Isle of Man On March 13, 2015, the Belgian Council of Ministers approved the DTA with Isle of Man for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
Guernsey Swaziland On March 12, 2015, The Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) between Guernsey and Swaziland entered into force to automatically exchange tax data.
Luxembourg Uruguay On March 10, 2015, the Government of Luxembourg confirmed that it has recently signed a DTA with Uruguay for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion in relation to taxes on income.
Hungary  Luxembourg On March 10, 2015, the Government of Hungary and Luxembourg signed a DTA for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion in relation to taxes on income.
Mexico Turkey On March 10, 2015, Mexico ratified the DTA with Turkey by way of Presidential Decree.
Bahrain Cyprus On March 09, 2015, a DTA between Bahrain and Cyprus was signed in Manama for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion in relation  to taxes on income.
South Africa Qatar On March 06, 2015, a DTA between South Africa and Qatar was signed in Pretoria for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion.
Portugal  Sao Tome and Principe On March 05, 2015, Portugal signed a DTA with Sao Tome and Principe, in São Tomé for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion.
Italy Guernsey On March 05, 2015, The TIEA between Guernsey and Italy entered into force following the completion of Italy’s domestic ratification procedures.
Portugal Georgia On March 05, 2015, Portugal published Decree 24 of 2015 in its Official Gazette ratifying the DTA signed with Georgia.
Kazakhstan Vietnam On March 04, 2015, Kazakhstan’s lower house of Parliament approved legislation to ratify the DTA signed with Vietnam for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion.
Switzerland  Australia On March 03, 2015, Switzerland and Australia signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) to automatically exchange tax data from 2018.
Italy Monaco On March 02, 2015, Italy and Monaco signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) to automatically exchange tax data.
Turkey Kosovo On February 26, 2015, Turkey’s Council of Ministers approved legislation to ratify the DTA with Kosovo.
Kazakhstan Macedonia On February 26, 2015, Kazakhstan approved a law ratifying the DTA with Macedonia for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
Italy Liechtenstein On February 26, 2015, Italy and Liechtenstein signed a Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) to automatically exchange tax data.
United Kingdom Senegal On February 26, 2015, the United Kingdom and Senegal signed a DTA for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion in relation to taxes on income.

Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament approved legislation to ratify DTAs with the South Korea and United Kingdom in the meeting dated February 25, 2015.
Czech Republic Cook Islands On February 24, 2015, The Czech Republic signed a tax information exchange agreement with the Cook Islands to automatically exchange tax data.
Switzerland  Italy On February 23, 2015, Italy and Switzerland signed a DTA for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion in relation to taxes on income.
South Africa Cameroon On February 19, 2015, South Africa and Cameroon signed a tax treaty, in Yaoundé for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion in relation to taxes on income.
Ireland Vanuatu On February 19, 2015, the Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) between Ireland and Vanuatu entered into force to automatically exchange tax data.
Faroe Islands Uruguay On February 19, 2015, the Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) between Faroe Islands and Uruguay entered into force.

On February 12, 2015, according to Estonia’s Parliament, legislation to ratify Estonia’s DTAs with Switzerland and Luxembourg has been approved and was forwarded to the President to complete the ratification procedures.
France Tajikistan By means of exchange of letters, the governments of France and Tajikistan agreed to terminate the Income Tax Treaty between France and former USSR in 1985, in relations between France and Tajikistan.
Italy Isle of Man On February 10, 2015, Italy ratified the Tax Information Exchange Agreement (TIEA) with Isle of Man to automatically exchange tax data.
